The Matching Process

  1. Egg Donor Application

Women interested in helping a family through egg donation complete a detailed questionnaire and provide us with several photographs. We request donors to submit recent photographs, as well as photographs of themselves as a child. The egg donor team at CSED, Inc. reviews the questionnaire to determine if the prospective donor meets all of our pre-screening requirements. If there is any aspect of the donor’s background that may cause concern, those concerns are reviewed with the medical staff at several of the area fertility clinics. We conduct a thorough and extensive interview with the donor to ensure that she understands the process, is committed to the process, and will be available for at least the next six months to participate in a donor cycle. We also will listen to the donor and address any concerns that she may have about the process. If the donor meets all of the necessary criteria to qualify as a donor and is committed to the process, her profile is added to our donor database of available donors.

  1. Donor Database

Intended Parents must register to obtain access to the donor database. After you register, you will receive a packet of detailed information on our donor program via email, as well as a user name and password by the end of the next business day.

Once you have gained access to the donor gallery, you will receive further instructions on how to locate a donor who will be a good match for you. Each donor will have a short profile giving you basic background information about the donor, e.g., hair color, eye color, height, weight, ethnic background, state of residence, prior donation history, etc. You will be able to view photographs of donors, as well as download a copy of the donor's complete profile. If you have any questions or problems with the donor gallery, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our staff will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about the process. We are also more than happy to seek additional information from donors that may aid you in the decision making process.

Specialty Advertising

If you are not able to find a donor who is a good match for you, we very much want to know that as well. The more we know about your search criteria, the more likely we will be able to match you with a new or prior donor as they become available.

We also will engage in specialty advertising at no additional cost to you, if you are looking for a specific type of donor. If you would like to participate in our specialty advertising program, please feel free to contact us.

  1. Donor Selection

Once you have identified a donor you think is a good match for you, you will need to complete an Intended Parents Questionnaire form. You will receive a copy of the Intended Parents Questionnaire when you are given access to the Donor Gallery. If you need another copy, we would be happy to email it to you.

After you have completed and sent in your Intended Parent Questionnaire, we will remove any and all identifying information and send this “no-ID” copy to the donor you have selected. The purpose of sending the donor a copy of the Intended Parents Questionnaire is two-fold. First, we do not want a donor in the future to be able to claim that she was unaware about a particular aspect of the intended parents' background, e.g., ethnicity, marital status, sexual orientation, etc. Providing such information to the donor at the beginning of the matching process helps prevents a donor from claiming that there was fraud involved in the matching process. Second, and more importantly, we strongly believe that donors who know some background information about the intended parents feel much more comfortable with the egg donation process and are therefore likely to be even more committed and to do all things necessary to make it through the egg donor cycle successfully. We encourage you to view the Intended Parents Questionnaire as your opportunity to have the donor care almost as much about a positive outcome as you do. After reviewing your questionnaire, the donor will contact us to confirm that she is committed to moving forward with you. It is at this point that the donor match will become "official." We will then email you the documents needed to complete the matching process with your donor.
