How Long Have You Been in Business?

Attorney Robert Nichols has been matching clients with egg donors since 1999. We created the Center for Surrogacy & Egg Donation, Inc. in 2007 as a way to serve our clients and donors better. However, our staff has over 10 years of experience in matching intended parents with egg donors.

Question: How Do You Recruit Donors?

Some potential egg donor candidates contact us after researching egg donation on the internet. Others are referred by friends who have had a good experience working with our agency. Others respond to various forms of advertising that we do. Regardless of how a potential egg donor candidate finds us, all receive the same information and the same extensive screening.

Question: Are All Donors On Your Website Immediately Available?

Yes. Unlike some other agencies, we remove donor profiles from our database when they are matched with intended parents. Therefore, the only instance where you will see a donor on our database who may not be immediately available is if the donor is “on hold” by another client. We allow intended parents to place up to 3 donors “on hold” for a period of 3 business days. The purpose of this is to allow intended parents some time to review profiles thoroughly to determine which donor is the best match for them. Obviously, intended parents will only work with one donor and the other donors who are on hold will become available to be matched with other clients. Accordingly, we encourage you to contact us if you are interested in a donor who is currently “on hold” by another client.

Question: How Do We Put a Donor On Hold?

You can put a donor on hold by contacting us with the number(s) of the donor(s) you are interested in. We require clients to email, rather than call, with the donor number(s) so that there is a written record of the donor you are interested in.

Question: Will I Meet the Donor or Have any Direct Contact With Her?

The vast majority of donor matches that we do are anonymous. The donor will receive a copy of your Intended Parents Questionnaire, without any of your identifying information. Because you will complete the Intended Parents Questionnaire, you will be able to control what information is given to the donor. In some instances, the intended parents want to meet their donor. Assuming the donor agrees, we will help arrange for whatever level of contact you would like to have with your donor from an anonymous email exchange, to a phone call exchanging first names only, to a face to face meeting.

Question: Will I Be Represented by an Attorney?

Yes. Our agency requires that both intended parents and egg donors have separate independent counsel. You will be represented by the law firm of Nichols & DeLilse, P.C. Your donor will be referred to an independent attorney not affiliated with CSED, Inc. or Nichols & DeLisle, P.C.

Question: Has Your Agency Ever Been Involved in Any Lawsuits?

Question: How Much Will the Egg Donor Process Cost?

Please visit our Egg Donation Fees & Expenses page for a detailed breakdown of the fees and expenses associated with the egg donation process. Please note that our fee schedule includes an estimate of ALL of the potential costs of egg donation and not just the costs that you will pay to the agency and the donor. Some donor agencies do not address the medical and legal costs that you will incur through their agency. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the financial aspects of egg donation. We will be happy to answer all of your questions.

Question: Do You Charge a Higher Agency Fee If My Donor Does Not Live Near My Clinic?

No. Unlike some other agencies, we charge the same matching fee regardless of whether you donor lives close to your clinic or lives farther away and will need to travel.

Question: What Happens If My Donor Changes Her Mind or Does Not Pass My Clinic's Screening?

The CSED, Inc. Egg Donor Team will extensively interview and pre-screen your donor to make sure she is committed to the process. Also, our Egg Donor Questionnaire is designed to elicit medical and psychological information to dramatically reduce the chance that your donor will not pass the screening at your clinic. In the unlikely event your donor changes her mind or does not pass the screening process, CSED, Inc. will make it our number one priority to match you with another donor as quickly as possible and at no additional cost paid to CSED, Inc. We will do so until you have a donor approved by your clinic and who participates in the egg donor cycle. You should speak with your clinic about whether you will be charged additional fees by the clinic if a donor does not pass the screening.
